World Mental Health Day Observed at Manasa Rehabilitation and Training Centre, Pamboor

Pamboor: The Manasa Rehabilitation and Training Centre, Pamboor, observed World Mental Health Day with a special program focused on the theme of parenting and care for special children.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Keshav Ram, Assistant Professor at the Manipal College of Health Professions, Department of Occupational Therapy, said, “There is no user manual to bring up a child anywhere in the world because each child is unique and special in their own way.” He addressed parents and teachers, emphasizing the importance of understanding and nurturing the individuality of every child.

Mr. John Martis, Trustee of the Centre, welcomed the gathering and, in his opening remarks, shared insights on how parents and schools can work together harmoniously to ensure the overall development and well-being of special children.

Dr. Gerald Pinto, Joint Secretary of the institution, appreciated the efforts of Mr. Keshav Ram and encouraged parents to apply the ideas discussed in their daily interactions with children.

Mr. Joseph Noronha, Secretary of the Trust, proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers for making the event meaningful.

The program was attended by Mr. Henry Menezes, Sr. Vinny Gonsalves (Principal), Mrs. Muriel Premalatha (Vice Principal), along with teachers and staff members of the institution.

The event highlighted the collective role of educators, parents, and professionals in promoting mental health awareness and supporting children with special needs.
